onehundredfourty.
We welcome people into our lives, constantly, whether it be as addition to our family, as friends, or a bit more than friends. They all have something in common. They are all given equal chances to hurt us, play with our minds, throw us in the dirt. The ones we embrace, the ones we share our happiest moments with become a large part of who we are. We share a connection with them. The depth varies depending on the level of imminence you allow the other the privilege of. With these memories, come inside jokes, hilarity, affection, understanding. Accompanied with this comes the heartache and pain. Im sure we can all recall a time when we have said “I didn’t expect them to do that to me.” Don’t deny it, we’ve all done it. But then, I think we could be wrong about this. We bring people into our lives for a reason, understanding the risk that we may get hurt once again. Rarely is it ever intentional, but the pain I feel, at times, becomes unbearable. What I mean by all of this is, at the end of the day, you chose who you truly love. For love is a choice, a commitment, a decision we must make. I have now learned that when I give my heart up to someone, it will be completely, or not at all. It’s the way it shall be.
