seventyfive.
We all have that power to hurt somebody. Some, more or less than others. In the little ways, big ways, quick and impersonal ways, or even over long periods of time to the people that trust you the most. Maybe just indirectly, by mistake. Or directly, definitely on purpose. Me, myself, I could hurt you by not saying things you would want to hear, or by saying the things that you never wanted to hear, not even in a whisper. Yeah, we’re all capable of it. This pain. It’s like a game of dodge ball. You may aim at someone, and hit them directly. Other times, they might dodge it, or it may bounce off that person you wanted to see get hurt, and end up hitting someone else in the process, hurting an innocent bystander. If you’re good at it, and if you’re quick, you can dodge the pain. But the truth is, you can’t dodge it forever because sooner or later were all going to be pushed to the limit. So you either survive by eliminating your opponents or surrender, take the hit, and wave that white flag of yours. There are only so many hits one can take and so many battles one could possibly forfeit.
“You’ve hurt me, and you don’t even know it.”
